Christopher Dunne, Sea Chanteyman, presents a live performance of traditional nautical-themed ballads, humorous maritime songs and classic sea chanteys.

My custom stage guitars are truly unique... the figured maple tops of the acoustic 6-string and the acoustic-electric 12-string feature a rippling water 3-dimensional finish of my own development:

Unique Nautical Figural Carvings

"When I'm not working on a show, I create works of maritime sculpture and art for my set design. When carving, I set a specific subject or theme, and then make unique originals of the subject available for individual sale. These are not mechanical duplications. Each work is unique and hand-signed with an individual label of authenticity. Each piece will naturally vary somewhat, but remain consistent with the subject's title."

All artwork is created and completed exclusively by my hand. I do not hand-sign any print or mechanical duplication of any kind, and no one assists in any phase of the process of any sculpture with my label of authentication.

Each work of art includes a CD from a live performance of my show for your listening pleasure.

"The Whaler" figure below is a one-of-a-kind sculpture of fine Tupelo wood. Including pedestal, for optimal display purposes figures are within 3" x 3" x 12"

As I tread water in the chilly unrelenting swells, hopeful that the currents would bring me back to shore, I was comforted by recollections of old sea songs and of the seafarers who lived and died by them. Recently, a long lost Sea Chanteyman visited me in dream and gave me his account and a vision of how he met his own fate in open water, one moonlit night a cenrury ago. His ship had gone down with all hands, and he was alone and adrift in the rolling sea. As he gradually succumbed to fatigue and bitter cold, a mermaid appeared in the nearby waves. She beckoned, and reached out for him. He reached for her hand, and on grasping it, she pulled him under. Here is my painting of that haunting vision...
